It started in physical therapy.

My PT was stretching me — just a normal session, nothing remarkable — when he said something that planted a seed. He gave me the idea for scale sickness.

That one idea became the heartbeat of Echo's Song. A sickness that spreads when a bond goes unmade. A countdown that forces a choice. A girl running out of time.

Everything else grew from there — Nova, Luna, Echo, the forest, the ruins, the scroll with her name on it. What started as a single idea in a PT session became a world I've spent years building.

I don't have a grand reason for writing it. I just wanted to write something readers could get lost in. Something worth staying up too late for. Something that makes the world feel a little wider and a little more magical for a while.

That's it. That's the whole reason.
